About StackHPC
The Driving Force for OpenStack in Research Computing
StackHPC was formed in 2016 and is based in Bristol, UK. The company is built upon extensive expertise in high-performance computing (HPC), software-defined networking (SDN), software engineering and OpenStack. We have around 30 people with presence in Bristol, Oxford, Cambridge, France and Poland.
Our motivation is:
- To bring technologies and capabilities from the HPC space into cloud infrastructure.
- To help organisations to bring research computing workloads into a cloud environment in a way that unlocks flexibility, maintains performance and to the fullest extent possible exploits the advantages of new approaches in cloud computing.
- To address the shortcomings of cloud technologies for meeting the demands of High-Performance Computing and High-Performance Data Analytics.
- To contribute upstream and share our knowledge with the wider open source community.
How We Work
We aim to build upon the capabilities of both cloud and HPC to create unified, converged platforms that exploit the strengths of both paradigms.
We aim to develop new solutions to the problems faced by the research computing community that could not be satisfied using conventional approaches in either paradigm.
We aim to help clients familiar with conventional HPC environments to exploit the opportunities of cloud infrastructure to the fullest possible extent.
We aim to help clients already using software-defined infrastructure to understand the bottlenecks of their systems and achieve new levels of performance.
Can We Help You?
StackHPC offer a variety of services to both people running clouds and people using multiple clouds to run HPC and AI workloads. If you would like to get in touch we would love to hear from you! Reach out to us via Twitter or directly via our contact page.
